Key Ingredient: Bakuchiol

Key Ingredient: Bakuchiol

Bakuchiol (pronounced as ba-koo-chee-all), is THE plant-based alternative for retinol aka vitamin A. It’s extracted from the seeds of the Babchi plant (psoralea corylifolia) which is native to the Himalayan region and has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries.

The benefits of bakuchiol? Besides it’s natural, it has powerful anti-ageing properties. Bakuchiol stimulates the collagen production, meaning that it helps your skin to increase cell turnover, and diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

This increase in collagen pushes new skin cells to the top and improves your skin condition by smoothing the texture and diminishing signs of photo-ageing.

Besides all of this, bakuchiol is anti-inflammatory and therefore can be helpful against acne.

By the way, it’s more gentle and better tolerable for your skin than retinol and isn’t known to cause any irritation. You can easily use it in the morning and evening, it’s suitable for all skin types. The scent of bakuchiol is fresh and “green”.

When you use Bakuchiol in the morning, follow your routine with a broad-spectrum SPF.
